Dit boek beschrijft een moderne tragedie. Veel van de meest intelligente, meest creatieve, meest eigenwijze kinderen én volwassenen krijgen een verkeerde diagnose van een gedrags-, emotionele of mentale stoornis. Ze krijgen medicatie en advies om hun manier van zijn te veranderen zodat ze meer geaccepteerd zullen worden in school, het gezin, hun omgeving.
